About the Role
This position supports the UK Innovation & Science Seed Fund (UKI2S) — a £105 million government-backed investment vehicle. Analysts and Associates are not purely support roles — they are a core part of the execution engine of the Fund.
Primary Responsibilities
- Investment sourcing and evaluation: identifying, screening, and assessing opportunities across inbound and proactive channels
- Due diligence leadership: conducting technical, commercial, and market analysis while preparing Investment Committee materials
- Transaction support: managing engagement processes and syndicate coordination
- Portfolio development: advising companies on strategic initiatives, fundraising, and performance monitoring
- Ecosystem building: nurturing university partnerships and refining data-driven sourcing methods
Required Qualifications
- Degree in engineering, physics, computer science, or related discipline
- 1–2 years in startup, consulting, or corporate environments
Technical Competencies
- Ability to evaluate technical feasibility and scalability
- Financial statement literacy (preferred)
- Market research and analysis capabilities
- Complex document synthesis skills
Sector Interest
Defense, space, climate, or advanced engineering.
Compensation
- £40–60k salary
- Discretionary performance bonus + carried interest participation over time
