About the Role
The Principal Investor role drives the investment process, manages portfolios, and contributes to strategic direction. This position bridges Associates and Partners, preparing individuals for potential partnership within the venture capital firm.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Sourcing & Relationship Management
- Lead and drive deal flow: proactively identifying, sourcing, and evaluating potential investment opportunities
Deal Evaluation & Execution
- Take primary responsibility for leading the in-depth due diligence process for investment opportunities
Portfolio Company Support
- Provide strategic guidance and operational support to a portfolio of companies
Research & Content Development
- Proactively develop and articulate new investment theses in emerging MedTech and HealthTech sectors
Internal Operations & Collaboration
- Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering their professional growth
Qualifications
Experience
- 7–10 years of relevant professional experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, consulting or business/corporate development within healthcare or life sciences
- Alternatively: 3+ years in venture capital with prior C-level (functional operational) experience in a MedTech/biotech company
Education
- A Bachelor's degree, preferably in a scientific field, and an advanced degree (e.g. MD, PhD, or MBA) are required
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of the MedTech industry
- Proficient in financial modeling, valuation, and analysis
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Travel
Up to 30% (including international)
Compensation
- Region 1: $192,000 – $288,000 USD
- Region 2: $163,200 – $244,800 USD
Annual, Day Shift, Set Schedule with weekly onsite requirements.
